AC Milan and Napoli continue to be interested in Romelu Lukaku, with both sides reportedly working on a potential deal.

Lukaku joined Chelsea from Inter Milan in the summer of 2021 for just under £100 million, and despite a promising start, the move has been a complete disаster for the Blues.

AC Milan and Napoli are working on Lukaku.

Chelsea inserted a £38 million exit clause into Lukaku’s contract before sending him on loan to Roma last summer, and they expect any potential suitors to pay it in full.

According to Italian outlet Di Marzio, AC Milan and Napoli are still interested in the Belgium international and are working to bring him back to Italy.

According to the report, the Blues are currently not open to a loan deal, with Lukaku, who has two years left on his Chelsea contract, set to make a decision on his future after the Euros.

The Saudi Pro League has also expressed interest, with Lukaku previously stating that he would be open to moving to Saudi Arabia.

Given his relationship with Antonio Conte, Napoli’s new manager, the links make the most sense.

When asked if Lukaku was his top transfer target, the Italian responded:

“He is an excellent, top-tier player.

“There’s nothing else to sаy.”

Lukaku spent the season on loan at Roma and is set to return to Stamford Bridge this summer. However, the Blues hope to offload him during the upcoming transfer window, and any suitors must match the £38 million ($48 million) release clause in his contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Belgium international could stay in Italy for the next few years, with Napoli reportedly interested in signing him. The Serie A club is expected to hire Antonio Conte as their new coach, and the former Chelsea manager is a known admirer of Lukaku, having won the Italian league title with him at Inter. It was reported that the London club could use him in a swap deal for striker Victor Osimhen.
