Usyk appeared to knock Fury to the ground, but the bell kept him from falling, even though it was still a knockdown.

And the well-known faces observing from ringside were in disbelief at what they were witnessing.

It was almost unbelievably apparent to everyone that Fury was about to suffer his first professional loss.

Regretfully, the British player’s lengthy streak of being unbeaten came to an end; he currently has a 35-1-1 record.

Before Usyk left the Morecambe boxer looking disoriented in the ninth round explosion, the fighter had appeared to be coasting to a points victory.

Some have even even stated that, had the referee not intervened, The Cat could have stopped the bout right there and then with a knockout.

According to Tony Bellew, a former WBC cruiserweight champion, the referee ought to have let Usyk keep hitting Fury until he was on the deck.

“I thought Oleksandr Usyk was a worthy winner,” Bellew stated in an interview with Good Morning Britain.

“I think Tyson Fury did an incredible job of stabilizing himself in the ninth round.

“However, the incident was peculiar since it wasn’t supposed to be counted.

“Tyson Fury is still standing and Oleksandr Usyk should still be allowed to throw punches.”

Fusy vs Usyk: Round by round verdict

ROUND 1

Let’s get started. By moving to the center of the ring, both men try to assert their supremacy early on.

The Ukrainian opens up with a stiff body shot as fury marches down him.

With Usyk, who is by no means a dwarf, the Gypsy King appears enormous.

Although the early jab he’s eaten will have given him some food for thought, Usyk is content to operate on the outside.

Usyk isn’t throwing his punches with much force, so Fury is trying to bait him into attacking.

When Fury finds himself cornered, he does the rope-a-dope technique, channeling his inner Muhammad Ali.

Just seconds before Fury is backed into the corner, Usyk lands a huge overhand left.

Avoiding the subsequent chaos, Fury makes a gesture toward the audience, perhaps insisting that they pay attention to his head movement. USYK 10–9

ROUND 2

With a forceful one-two to start the round, Usyk snaps back Fury’s head.

Fury tries to downplay it, but it’s obvious that the combination startled him.

Usyk is moving forward, putting the pressure and the stone in place.

Fury, who understands all too well that this is the shot to use against a shorter opponent, narrowly misses with a powerful uppercut.

Although Fury is punching harder than Usyk, he isn’t as precise.

After backing Fury into a corner, Usyk unleashes a powerful three-punch combination.

But Fury circles back to safety and roars back with a big body shot.

At last, Fury delivers an uppercut, but it goes straight to the former cruiserweight king’s body. FURY (10) 9

ROUND 3

After the restart, Fury is back on his bike and launches a hard straight right from range.

After consuming that shot, Usyk has made the decision to get closer and is going to focus on Fury’s shaved chest.

With little over a minute left in the stanza, a firm overhand left snaps back Fury’s head.

With thirty seconds left, Fury scores a solid combo. However, before the bell rings, he is again shoved back against the ring and consumes another flurry. USYK 10–9

Round 4

After the restart, Fury delivers two powerful blows to the body.

He’s dancing around after making his shots, clearly enjoying himself immensely.

However, he continues to let himself be pushed back and welcome Usyk’s pressure.

Just as Usyk steps forward, Fury launches a stunning counterattack.

Usyk takes another vicious uppercut to the back of his head.

Before the bell, both men came dangerously close to landing hard back hands; Fury missed an uppercut, while Usyk missed an overhand left. FURY (10) 9

Round 5

Following the restart, Usyk takes the middle of the ring and attempts to sneak into range.

When it comes to bringing the Ukrainian closer, Fury is doing a great job of keeping him at bay.

Usyk’s head whips back with a rasping uppercut.

With constant hooks to the midsection, Fury is inflicting physical harm on Usyk. FURY (10) 9

Round 6

Following the restart, Usyk is immediately on the front foot and trying to put Fury back on the back foot.

Usyk gets additional food for thought after taking a heavy body blow to the solar plexus.

With one minute and fifteen seconds left in the round, Fury nearly put an end to the exhibition with a massive uppercut.

But after 20 seconds, he finds a place for it, and Usyk is retreating.

With a little showmanship, Fury ends the round by putting his hands behind his back and resting his arms on the ropes.

An tremendous victory for the Wythenshawe fighter. FURY (10) 9

Round 7

After the resumption, Usyk tightens the gap once more, but he is being picked off at range.

Furthermore, as soon as he steps back, sharp hooks pierce his flesh.

Fury treats Usyk’s straight left like a packed lunch that his devoted wife Paris made.

Fury’s head is snapped back by another straight left, and he spins back out of range to try to make room for a body shot.

With a few seconds left, Usyk closes the gap and locates a spot for a two-punch combination.

However, Fury is able to turn around and hear the bell. FURY (10) 9

Round 8

In the eighth, Fury is content to play the field second fiddle and select his shots.

However, he is shaken by two consecutive straight left hands, which he ignores before returning to feinting and attempting to open up space for a body shot.

Usyk lands a nice straight left in the clinch, but for a moment he has to bear Fury’s weight.

His nose is gushing blood with rage. The harm was not caused by me. Big round to Usyk on that. USYK 10–9

Round 9

Usyk is still coming forward, despite Fury’s good attempt to trick him with feints.

He’s eating a tremendous left hand flush in the corner, though, as he’s gradually allowing the gap to close.

After getting hurt, Fury stumbles about the ring. The harm was done by a left hand.

A flurry of sharp follow-up shots is being consumed by Fury, who has no idea where he is. The bell mercifully saves him when he outwits the count. USYK 10–8

Round 10

Usyk senses blood, much like the Big Cat he is, and he’s not letting Fury get any peace.

Not much is being thrown by Fury, and what he does throw is slow and telegraphed.

Although Usyk appears worn out, he must continue to press the accelerator if he hopes to emerge as the unchallenged two-weight champion. USYK 10–9

Round 11

With the relaunch, a desperate Usyk, inspired by the suffering of his fellow Ukrainians back home, gets to work right away.

The tightness in Fury’s jab from the early rounds makes it difficult for him to use it to keep him at bay.

Usyk plants a rasping left hand and momentarily traps the WBC king in the corner.

Usyk doubles over, backing Fury up against the ropes for a little while with two left punches.

Usyk completes the round with yet another huge overhand left. USYK 10–9

Round 12

Following the fight’s final resumption, the spectators at the Kingdom Arena encourage both fighters.

Usyk is trying to get into range so he can land a left hand, but Fury is behaving like a matador.

And with a minute and a half left in the stanza, he finds a home for it.

Fury is sent reeling by a chopping right hand, but he counters with a powerful shot of his own to support the southpaw.

With his hands behind his back, Fury tries to provoke Usyk into a careless error in the last moments.

However, he maintains his composure as he attempts to go closer, which Fury timing to start a clinch. FURY (10) 9
